Coln Stores relies on its wonderful volunteers to help make us the hub of the village. There is something for everyone to contribute in the Café, Store or even the Post Office. We welcome all ages, and experience is not needed. You can help us with:
- serving customers
- making refreshments for people in the café
- stacking shelves
- helping log in deliveries of stock
- cleaning and washing up
- keeping the garden beautiful
Just bring your smile and enjoy seeing your friends and neighbours in a lively environment in the village. Not everyone will like every job so you get the chance to say what you prefer.
On-the-job training is given, so don’t worry you will not be asked to start using the till or making a cappuccino until you are comfortable – and there is always a manager on hand to help if you get stuck.
Shifts are between 2 and 4 hours long, depending on the time of day, and volunteers fill in the hours they would like to work. It is possible to choose a fixed day and time, or if you prefer fill in any gaps when a group email is sent requesting help – we are very flexible.
