A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us and participated in the celebration of 150 years of our shop and the role it has, and continues to, play in our community.

Thanks to your generosity, the four free-entry events across July, raised £3,500, every penny of which will go to local charities. As always, we’ll be looking to the CHEQS community to help us decide how best to put the money to good use. We will be telling you more about this process shortly.

The Future Just Got £10,000 Brighter

Last month, we shared exciting news: Coln Community Stores is stepping into a new chapter—one focused on enhancing your shopping experience, raising the quality of our store, and expanding the services we offer. We are proud to announce an even bigger reason to celebrate. We’ve just received final confirmation of an additional £10,000 in funding—a boost that will help us turn our vision for the store into reality faster.

The grant, awarded by Cotswold District Council, recognises our alignment with UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) objectives — building pride in place, improving life chances, supporting local businesses, and developing people & skills. This funding means we can be more ambitious with our planned improvements, further strengthening our role at the heart of the community.

A huge thank you to Tristan Wilkinson (Cabinet Member for Economy and Council Transformation) and the rest of the team at CDC, who have granted our application.
